At 36 weeks, our little girl is getting ready for her big debut. She was once a poppyseed, but now she is a honeydew! Some apps say a watermelon, but that seems a bit excessive. Baby is still working on her lung development as well as putting on some extra poundage. Can’t believe she could be here 2 weeks from now (even though my guess is I’ll be induced at 41 weeks). Aaron is guessing a couple days early. We will see! It also depends on how my ultrasound looks next week.
How far along? 36 Weeks
Total weight gain: up 19 lbs
Maternity clothes? a mixture of both…can’t wait to start shopping for normal clothes again! Especially for fall! This summer I probably spent the least money on clothes ever…which I’m sure made Aaron happy.
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: I’ve been more tired…but still can’t sleep. For the next one…I might invest in a pregnancy pillow. I can’t wait to start sleeping on my belly again!
Best moment this week: Aaron and I are just trying to get last minute things taken care of. Friday night, we stayed up till 1 am making meals for the freezer. This weekend we are installing her car seat.
Miss Anything? I’m actually getting a little sad that this whole process is almost over but obviously can’t wait to meet her!
Movement: lots of slow movements and less kicking. you can tell space is getting tight for her in there!
Food cravings: I could eat ice cream everyday
Symptoms: Overall, I’m feeling pretty great still. My feet/ankles now get swollen/huge after being on them for any period of time. But I think I’ve been pretty lucky with this pregnancy. So many people told me how miserable I was going to be being pregnant in the summer, but it hasn’t been bad at all.
Labor Signs: Just lots of Braxton Hicks, especially with activity. Anxious to see if they are actually doing anything.
Belly Button in or out? It’s still flat if I’m laying down, but pokes out when I’m standing.
Wedding rings on or off? On
Looking forward to: we have our 36 week appointment late this week where my doctor will check my cervix for the first time! Anxious to see if there’s any progress. We’re also getting another ultrasound early next week to make sure sweet girl is still in there growing like she should!
Update: doctors appointment went good! Not dilated at all but she has completely dropped! Her head is at “0” station which means she has settled down in my pelvis, right before she makes her descent down the birth canal for labor. Yikes. That would explain the not being able to stand up without running to the bathroom thing. My doctor was surprised but said that explains why my belly is still measuring 3 weeks behind. Baby girl is pulling down on my uterus! But we still get to have an ultrasound next week. Now that her head is resting against my cervix, every Braxton hicks I have should help thin it out and dilate it. I don’t think that I’m going to go early but this gives me hope that I won’t have to get induced! I really want to go into labor on my own, as long as its not past 41 weeks. I know her lungs are still developing, but once 38 weeks hits…bring on the extra long walks 🙂
Hospital bags are officially packed!
And of course a picture of part of her first holiday outfit!
