Five months old. Who knew God could pack so much personality in someone so small. You are getting more and more fun everyday. You have your typical Stella faces that you make, but you still seem to surprise us with new faces all the time. And you are “talking” like crazy lately! You love talking to yourself in the mirror.
You are so much more aware of what’s going on in this huge world around you. You absolutely love the cat and dog. You see them and start giggling and flailing your arms. You reach for everything that you see. Going out to eat just got a whole lot harder. We put you down to play and you watch to see if we’re going to walk away or not. You always make sure you know where we are at all times 🙂 You are sitting up in the “tripod” position. But usually you dive forward to get on your belly.
You have lots of new toys since Christmas has come and gone. You absolutely love your baby einstein exersaucer! You will sit in that thing for as long as we let you. You also like to be pushed around in your pink car while you honk the horn. Soon will be the day that you are walking around in that thing all over the house. Sophie the giraffe still is number one in your eyes though. That’s the one thing that goes everywhere with us.
When you are totally over being in your car seat or if we’re out to eat and you are over mom and dad trying to entertain you, we let you watch baby einstein for a few minutes. You would stare at that screen for as long as we would let you, not moving an inch. Pretty scary. At home, we try not to have the tv on because it distracts you from your play 🙂
Not long before you will be getting your first tooth. Even though you have drooled and chewed on everything since what seems like your whole life, I have a feeling a tooth is coming soon. I should be excited for this new “milestone” but it kinda makes me sad. Never did I think my baby getting a tooth would be so emotional! Oh, and you have two FRECKLES 🙂 One on your left wrist and one on your left shoulder blade. Cutest. freckles. ever.
Stats: no checkup this month…we will know more after her six month appt!
Hair: Blonde! She is getting more of it, and it seems to be going in all different directions right now.
Diapers: size twos.
Clothes: We are now in 3-6 month and 6 month clothes. Sweet girl is pretty petite but has some long legs and arms like her momma.
Eating: Still exclusively breastfeeding. She is now nursing anywhere from 2 to 3 hours during the day. She is still taking about five ounces when she gets a bottle when I’m at work. I have about 700 oz of frozen milk, I plan to use some for making her baby food with. One more month until we starts solids!
Sleeping: Nothing has changed here. Still loves her sleep! We never went through the four month regression. We start bedtime routine at 7 and she is usually asleep by 8. She gets up around 7-8 every morning. She has never woken up in the middle of the night ever since she started sleeping through the night. She is still a belly sleeper, and loves sleeping with a blanket and her lovey. Depending on what time she gets up in the morning and what our day looks like, she either takes two or three naps. Naps usually last anywhere from 1.5 to 3 hours. We always make sure she is awake from 4 pm to bedtime.
